    The 35 presidents of the superior courts of justice of Peru expressed that the discrepancies that may arise, in relation to jurisdictional decisions, “they cannot give rise to ridicule or put the Judicial Power under attack by threatening its independence.”

    Through a public statement, they indicated that the obligation of every person, without any exclusion, is to comply with judicial resolutions.

    “The system provides for the right to a plurality of instances and the use of appeals. Therefore, each judge is responsible for the decisions that she issues in the independent exercise of her function “, they pointed out.

    Likewise, they referred that the independence of the Judiciary is an essential component of the Constitutional State of Law and of the democratic system, which must be respected and guaranteed both in regulations and in practice.

    “Judges have the duty to fully guarantee respect for human rights; likewise, we have among our attributions, that of controlling the conventionality, constitutionality and legality of the acts of other powers of the State”, they underlined.

    Finally, the presidents of the country's superior courts of justice emphasized that The Judiciary's mission is to guarantee the rule of law, full respect for human rights, as well as democracy in our country.
