The president of the Oversight Commission of Congress, Héctor Ventura (Popular Force), warned of an alleged “crime” in the case of the trip of Defense Minister, José Gavidia, to Huánuco accompanied by of his daughters.

Through his official Twitter account, the parliamentarian pointed out that the use of public goods for an activity unofficial, but private, constitutes embezzlement and announced that his commission will address the case.

“The Minister of Defense took his daughters to Huánuco on a State aircraft. Use of public goods for an unofficial activity, but a private one. What is that called? Embezzlement of use, and it is a crime. From the Control Commission we will address this irregularity”, he wrote on the social network.

As it is recalled, 'Punto Final' accessed the passenger lists of official flights and, in that of Minister Gavidia, found the names of his three daughters. The trip took place on Monday, March 14 of this year, to the Huánuco region.

Gavidia was transferred by a Fokker plane with AE-565 plate, until the opening of the school year in a school in Huánuco, however, according to the Sunday, the ceremony only lasted 3 hours while the stay of the head of the Mindef lasted for three days and nights.

The report indicated that the names of Gavidia's three daughters, including two minors and one 31 years old, appeared on the list of passengers on that trip.

However, on his Twitter account, the head of the Mindef rejected the report and said that it was a work trip to attend to an important agenda of work commissioned by the president Pedro Castillo.

“When making this trip I was obliged to take my daughters, because on the aforementioned date I was in charge of their care and at the same time I had to carry out my work as an authority. I could not avoid my responsibility as a father, according to an agreed visitation regime ”, he wrote on the social network.
