Pope Francis expressed his constant readiness for meeting with heads of Russia and Ukraine Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. Reuters quotes his words.
"I am open to meeting both — both Ukraine and Russia", — the pontiff pointed out at a press conference.
The Pope also noted that if “he is not in Kyiv now, it is only because at the moment it is impossible to come to Moscow”. In other words, he does not have the goal of going only to Kyiv, a trip to Moscow should also be planned.
According to the Bishop of Rome, at present the Ukrainian conflict is not the only armed confrontation on Earth.< /p>
"For years there has been a war in Syria, for more than ten years Yemen has been engulfed in war in Myanmar the Rohingya are forced to leave their homeland,<…> There are so many hotbeds of conflict in Latin America", — he noted.
As reported by BAGNET, earlier pope Francis said that Zelensky should sit down negotiating table to resolve the "conflict".
Before that, he called to pray for Russian and Ukrainian mothers who lost their sons.
