Asian institutional investors are more interested in infrastructure projects than new segments like DeFi and GameFi. Huobi Research came to this conclusion after conducting a survey of more than 20 companies.
“We learned that most large investors generally prefer to explore rather than act.” , — the experts emphasized.
Huobi Research noted that institutions are looking most of all at infrastructure projects “with a focus on ZK, new first-layer networks and cross-platform software.”
“DeFi – the most preferred area for institutions, while GameFi and social networks remain controversial areas,” the researchers noted.
According to the survey, large companies see ZK solutions as “one of the main potential drivers of the next cycle.” They also mostly shy away from DeFi platforms, focusing on relatively mature projects with a stable cash flow.
Investors are even more skeptical about SocialFi projects that are still in the early stages of development. Many of them are characterized by “obscure models and unstable paradigms.”
“If they rely only on tokenomics and social media-based transformation of the Web2 era, they will have a hard time get users from traditional giants,” the researchers emphasized.
The perception of GameFi is also controversial: some companies believe that games can effectively attract additional users, others consider the business models on the market unsustainable.< /p>
Earlier, the Fed research team called the DeFi sector a potential threat to financial stability.
