The Polish TV company Polsat ordered the production of a remake of the Ukrainian sitcom Servant of the People, which starred Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The main role in the project will be played by a young Polish actor Marcin Gitsnar. The plot will remain the same: an ordinary man, unexpectedly for himself, wins the presidential election and begins to change the country for for the better.

The original version of "Servant of the People" went to  TV channel "1+1" from 2015 to 2019. The same name — "Servant of the people" — then received by the political party, from which the leading actor Volodymyr Zelensky was nominated for the presidential elections in early 2019.

As THR notes, “events in”nbsp;neighboring”Ukraine are especially relevant for Poland”, whose government was one of the first to express support for Zelensky and condemn Russia's actions. Poland also received the largest number of Ukrainian refugees among European countries. According to the data of the Polish border service, on August 13, after February 24, about 5.4 million people crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border.
