Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak said that the Polish army needs to completely replace the models of Soviet military equipment still in service with western ones. He spoke about this in an interview with the Polska Times magazine.

He specified that the replacement of the weapons of the Polish armed forces is already underway.

“The first batches of HIMARS (American rocket system volley fire. — ed.) we ordered back in & nbsp; 2019. Armored troops are also important, so we buy tanks. The air force is also important, back in 2020 we ordered two squadrons of F-35s", — Blaszczak said.

He also added that Poland is now buying South Korean-made FA-50 Fighting Eagle fighters.

The day before, Blaszczak “bluntly” said Germany that he did not want less than a battalion of Leopard tanks to replace Soviet-made T-72s delivered to Ukraine. According to him, the proposal, which was made in the form of up to 20 tanks, and the first copies will have to arrive in Poland only next year, does not meet Poland's expectations and does little.
