Poland will modernize the electronic barrier on the border with Belarus by October

Poland will modernize the electronic barrier on the border with Belarus by October this year in the amount of more than 125 million zlotys (over 30 million dollars)

The Border Service of Poland reports this on the X social network, Ukrinform reports.

“Today, the Border Service signed a contract for the modernization of the border protection on the land section with Belarus, which concerns the electronic fence,” messages.

As noted, the executor of the agreement is Telbud S.A. 125.2 million zlotys have been allocated for the implementation of all the works, which should be completed in October this year.

In 2022, Poland built a 5.5 m high and 186 km long barrier on the border with Belarus, installed a modern system electronic monitoring in response to the artificial creation of migratory pressure by Belarus and Russia on the border of the Republic of Belarus with Poland and the Baltic countries from the summer of 2021.

In addition, Warsaw until 2028 within the framework of the large-scale program “Shield East”  will build fortifications, detection and warning systems, advanced bases, logistics hubs and anti-drone systems on the border with Russia and Belarus.
