Poland will buy long-range missiles for F-16 from the US for $735 million

On Tuesday, May 28, Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys will sign a contract with the US government on the purchase of missiles long-range JASSM-ER air-to-ground class.

As European Truth reports, the Polish Ministry of Defense announced this.

The contract worth $735 million concerns the supply of missiles for fighter jets F-16. They have a range of about 1000 kilometers – three times more than JASSM missiles, which are currently used on Polish F-16s.

Deliveries, as specified by the Polish Ministry of Defense, are planned for 2026-2030.

Sales of air-to-air missiles Poland's JASSM AGM-158B ER was approved by the US Congress at the end of March.

They, the Polish Ministry of Defense says, will be “a kind of addition” to the BARBARA balloon system, the contract for the supply of which was signed last week.

“What will be detected by balloons, among other things, can be hit by JASSM-ER air-to-surface missiles”, – it is noted there.

The BARBARA program, as a supplement to other intelligence activities, has been in preparation since 2017.
