For Poland at the NATO summit, which will take place in Washington, the focus will be on three issues, in particular Ukraine's membership in the Alliance, writes Ukrinform.
Andrzej Duda said that Warsaw wants to raise three topics at the NATO summit.
“The first is to further strengthen NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities. Secondly, these are issues related to the implementation of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic ambitions. And thirdly, this is a question of revising NATO’s approach to Russia,” Duda explained.
He added that Warsaw supports the start of the process of integrating Ukraine into NATO. And he noted that the Alliance supports Ukraine’s aspirations for NATO membership.
“We in Poland strongly support the issue of the early start of the process of integration into NATO,” the Polish president emphasized.
By According to him, we are talking about officially providing Ukraine with an invitation to begin the ratification process.
Duda noted that Ukraine will not be able to become a member of the Alliance while there is a war, but this process must begin. And this will be a signal to the Russian Federation that the voice of Ukraine is heard in NATO, and no threats from the Kremlin will delay the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of Kyiv.
In addition, in his opinion, there should be more initiatives like the Czech one to supply Ukraine with ammunition, including the joint production of ammunition.
