Poland continues to stockpile weapons

Poland will probably sign a contract with South Korea in September for delivery of more weapons, in particular K2 tanks.

As Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Komysz said, negotiations on financing are “very close to completion,” reports Reuters.

The previous government Poland has signed arms deals with South Korea as part of a bid to strengthen its military in response to Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, but there have been problems with financing the contracts.

The new agreement provides for overall supplies, the minister said. complexity of 180 K2 tanks. The first batch of 180 tanks has already been delivered.

He added that he hopes that some of the tanks provided for in the September agreement can be manufactured under a South Korean license in Poland.
