Poland and NATO countries will create a “wall of drones”

Finland, Norway, Poland and the Baltic countries plan to create a “wall of drones” to protect its borders with Russia. This project, approved due to numerous provocations, was discussed by NATO ministers, the Financial Times reports.

NATO ministers said they discussed the creation of a coordinated system of drones along their borders with Russia. This project is aimed at preventing smuggling and provocations. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, Agne Bilotaite, explained that the “wall of drones” will use drones and other technologies to protect borders from unfriendly actions.

Minister of the Interior of Finland Marie Rantanen noted that the “Drone Wall” will improve over time and help protect the 1,340-kilometer border between Finland and Russia.

Plans for the evacuation of the population in the event of a conflict were also discussed at the meeting. Finnish representatives expressed surprise at the fact that Ukraine left civilians on the front line, and explained that Finnish defense plans provide for the evacuation of the population of border areas.

The project involves the use of drones for monitoring border areas and systems for countering enemy drones. Lithuania has already begun strengthening its borders with the help of drones, creating a special unit and purchasing additional drones and countermeasures systems.
