Photo spies captured the new electric SUV Volkswagen ID.6 during road tests. The car differs from the concept model with more classic body elements.
The Volkswagen Group continues to expand its range of vehicles with electric motors. Already, engineers are testing the Volkswagen ID.6 electric SUV, which is a further development of the ID Roomzz concept. They tried to disguise the car as a Peugeot model, but its characteristic features could not be hidden from the views of experts. In general, they stated that the engineers had quite seriously departed from those developments that were presented last year in the prototype. Initially, it was supposed to have sliding doors. When opening, they were supposed to slide to the wheels, but in the end they abandoned this difficult detail, choosing the classic scheme. Surely the production version will not have the swivel seats shown at the exhibition. In general, many features of the recently introduced ID.4 crossover are guessed in the design. They are created on the same MEB platform, but the dimensions of the new items will be larger. This applies to all parameters and wheelbase. Its length can reach 2,965 mm.
The Volkswagen ID.6 should be driven by two electric motors with a total power of 302 horsepower. They will be able to accelerate the car to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds. The maximum speed will be 180 km / h, and the distance that can be covered on one battery charge will exceed 450 km.
