Kia has started road tests in South Korea of the updated mid-size crossover Kia Sorento. Photo spies were able to photograph this novelty for the first time.

From 2020, buyers are offered the fourth generation Kia Sorento (internal code name MQ4). The South Korean auto giant plans to launch an updated model on the market.

According to, photo spies noticed the updated Sorento in South Korea near the Hyundai-Kia research center. The crossover is completely covered with camouflage, so it's hard to say anything concrete about its design. Judging by the photos, the updated Sorento will have a new front end, but the taillights will remain the same.

There will apparently be no changes in the engine lineup. Previously, Kia closed its internal combustion engine development departments as it focused on the development and production of electric vehicles. jpg” alt=”Photo spies first showed the updated Kia Sorento” />

In the cabin, most likely, there will be a new infotainment system with a 12.3-inch curved touchscreen. The same touchscreen is already in the new KiaTelluride and Seltos. In addition, the crossover will receive modern active safety systems.

In South Korea, sales of the updated Kia Sorento will begin in 2023 (when exactly – is not yet known). It will appear in Europe only in 2024.
