The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) terminates cooperation with the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Alexander Petrakov. This reports the press service of the UAF.
Petrakov's contract expired on December 30, this is the first official announcement of the termination of cooperation between the coach and the national team.
The UAF is sincerely grateful to Alexander Petrakov and his coaching staff for their high professionalism and unforgettable victories as the head coach of the national team. At the same time, the unique achievements of Alexander Vasilyevich, together with the youth teams of Ukraine with the world championship of the U-20 team, are forever inscribed in golden letters in the history of Ukrainian football.
In turn, Alexander Petrakov thanked the UAF for the opportunity to lead and work with the national team:
For me, this period of my life will forever remain a warm memory in my heart. I want to thank the players of the national team and the coaching of the administrative headquarters for the fact that for a year and a half we were the only whole, united and inspired by the idea of protecting the interests of Ukraine on the football field and beyond. We sought to achieve the greatest and give Ukraine the joy of victories in the most difficult period of the modern history of the state.< /em>
Under the leadership of Oleksandr Petrakov, the Ukrainian national team played 15 matches (6 wins, 7 draws, 2 losses, the difference between goals scored and conceded 23 – 13).
Who will be next the coach of the national team is still unknown, however, they say that the main contender for the position of the head coach is an ex-immigrant and the coach of Dynamo Kyiv Sergey Rebrov, who is now head of " Al-Ain" (UAE).
