Petrakov became the head coach of the Armenian national football team
< p>The former coach of the Ukrainian national football team Alexander Petrakov led the national team of Armenia. The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) announced this appointment on January 14.
They reported that this decision was made during a meeting of the FFA Executive Committee, at which the issue of appointing the head coach of the Armenian national team was discussed.
< p>"2After 1.5 hours of discussion, Oleksandr Petrakov, the former head coach of the Ukrainian national team, was elected from the proposed candidates", — The FFA press service reported.
Details of the contract of the 65-year-old Ukrainian specialist with the Football Federation of Armenia are unknown.
Petrakov officially left the post of coach of the Ukrainian national team on January 12. The UAF decided not to continue cooperation with the specialist.
It is interesting that last year, within the framework of the UEFA Nations League, Petrakov at the head of the Ukrainian national team defeated the Armenian team twice. In a nominally home match, the blue-yellows triumphed with a score of 3:0, and on the road they inflicted a crushing defeat 5:0.
In the qualification for Euro 2024, Armenia fell into Group D, where Turkey became its rivals, Croatia, Latvia and Wales.
