In partnership with Fiat and Pininfarina, the Italian company Platum, specializing in electric transport, presents its first electric scooter E-Moped 500. It's a two-wheeled vehicle with retro Vespa styling that pays homage to the Fiat 500e.

Platum is an Italian manufacturer of electric scooters and bicycles that already works with some of the biggest car and motorcycle brands, writes Largus. Its extensive catalog includes products from Lamborghini, Jeep, Lancia, Aprilia, Ducati and Triumph. But at the latest EICMA two-wheeler show (November 7-10, 2024 in Milan), Platum added another string to its bow by unveiling its first 100% electric scooter.

This is a two-wheeled vehicle called E-Moped 500was developed in collaboration with Pininfarina and the Fiat design center. The idea was to offer a model that was both retro and modern, and heavily inspired by the Fiat 500e.

Although the overall style borrows from the classic Vespa of the 1960s,The E-Moped 500 is full of nods to the Italian city car. In addition to the 500e logo on the sides, there is the typical light signature of the small Italian car. In front, two small round headlights frame the bumper, and a large circle-shaped headlight occupies the upper part of the body and the lower part of the windshield.

At the back, the rectangular lights are also reminiscent of the 500e. Even the wheels (13-inch at the front) echo the Fiat wheel style. Finally, under the saddle, the brand promises a large trunk capable of holding a helmet.

The promise of good range

On the technical side, Platum has provided very little information so far. All we know is that the E-Moped 500 features a removable battery that can be charged at home, and that the scooterpromises a range of 115 kilometers. An excellent indicator compared to competitors. Approved in the L3 category, i.e. for 125cc equivalents, it cannot exceed 11 kW of power, or 15 horsepower. The maximum speed is 80 kilometers per hour.
