The former Commander General of the Army, José Vizcarra, reiterated that he did meet with the president Pedro Castillo in the Government Palace and who received pressure for the promotion process in the military institution.

In dialogue with RPP Noticias, he questioned the president for denying during his demonstration before the then National Prosecutor, Pablo Sánchez, that he had a conversation with him in the Presidential Office.

The former soldier considered that Castillo Terrones' statement before the Prosecutor's Office is “naive” or “disconnected from reality”, and recalled that even the former Minister of Defense Walter Ayala confirmed that the meeting with the president did take place.

“If I, who have been Commander General of the Army, have been retired without reason or just cause in a unprecedented decision, imagine what they would do to a lower-ranking general”, he said.

Finally, the former officer recounted that Ayala told him that the former secretary of the Presidential Office Bruno Pacheco was uncomfortable because no one had been promoted “of those he has ordered”.

“It is time for the president to reflect and realize that his lie, or rather the omission to respond with the truth harms other people. You cannot say something that is easily probable”, he sentenced.
