Paris Hilton has taken her allegations of ill-treatment at school to court.
On Monday, the reality TV star looked back on the terrible year she spent in a Utah residential school.
During her appearance before a committee of the Senate of Utah, she explained that she was a “survivor of institutional abuse”.
“I speak today on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of children who are currently in institutions across the United States.”
“For 20 years, I have had the recurring nightmare of being abducted in the middle of the night by two strangers, strip searched and locked in a building. I would like to say that this haunting nightmare was just a dream, but it is not, ”she continued.
Paris Hilton then detailed the insults and physical and psychological abuse she suffered.
“I was cut off from the outside world and stripped of all my rights,” she added.
She also explained that she had been “forced to take medication which [l]’were numb and exhausted ”, that she had“ not breathed fresh air or seen sunlight for 11 months ”and that“ there was no privacy ”.
“Every time I used the bathroom or took a shower it was watched… I felt raped every day,” she recalled.
Paris Hilton wants schools like Provo Canyon, where she spent 11 months, to be closely watched and even closed if they violate human rights guidelines.
“Talking about something so personal was and remains terrifying, and I cannot fall asleep at night knowing that there are children who are subjected to the same violence as me and so many others have suffered,” he said. she declared in court.
“I am proof that money does not protect against abuse,” she concluded.
Paris Hilton had made public her allegations of abuse in 2020, in her docu-series This Is Paris.
