At the Eurosatory-2024 exhibition, Rheinmetall demonstrated the new KF-51U Panther CUT ( Concept Uncrewed Turret), developed to replace the Leopard 2. This is reported by Army Recognition.

The main features of the new tank include an unmanned turret and a 130 mm smoothbore gun, which surpasses the traditional 120 mm models both in terms of firing range and and power. According to experts, the effective range of the new gun will increase by 50% compared to the existing samples.

Ammunition in the new KF-51U tank is fed by means of an automatic loader that uses two stores located in the rear part of the tank tower. The crew consists of a commander and a gunner.

In addition to the 130 mm gun, the tower is also equipped with a twin 50 mm machine gun. In addition, the tank is equipped with a Rheinmetall RMG762 machine gun with three rotating barrels, designed to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Additional significant features of the tank include improved armor, an active defense system and advanced optical devices for day and night vision, which are available to both the commander and the gunner.
