The daily increase in new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia amounted to 6148 cases, 79 people died per day, follows from the data of the operational headquarters, released on Sunday. “Over the past 24 hours in Russia, there have been 6,148 confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in 84 regions, including 1,397 (22.7%) actively detected without clinical manifestations,” the headquarters said in a statement.
The day before in Russia, for the first time since July, the number of detected cases exceeded six thousand. The increase in detections was noted since the beginning of this week, which was explained by the increase in the number of tests performed. Prior to that, starting from September 4, the number of detected cases ranged from 5 thousand to 5.5 thousand coronavirus cases.
In total, 1 103 399 cases (+ 0.6%) of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia on an accrual basis in 85 regions, for the entire period in Russia 19 418 people died. The number of those discharged was 909,357 people, including 2,895 discharged in the last day, the headquarters said in a statement.
Meanwhile, for the first time, the number of deaths in recent years has dropped below one hundred cases.

According to the operational headquarters, 860 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Moscow over the past 24 hours, 13 people have died, 892 have been discharged to recover. 214 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in St. Petersburg, 188 – in the Moscow region, 178 – in the Rostov region, 165 – in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 158 – in the Voronezh region, 142 – in the Stavropol region, 127 – in the Kemerovo region, 125 cases in the Ulyanovsk region, 120 – in the Sverdlovsk region, 114 – in the Samara region, 108 – in the Saratov region, 102 cases were detected in the Krasnoyarsk region. In other regions of Russia, the daily increase over the past day was less than 100 cases.
According to the data of the headquarters on mortality, 15 patients died per day in St. Petersburg, five each in the Rostov region, in the Altai and Stavropol regions, four each in Dagestan and in the Omsk region, three cases each in the Krasnodar region and in the Novosibirsk region. In other regions, the number of deaths did not exceed one or two cases.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, published on Sunday, more than 41.7 million tests for COVID-19 were carried out in Russia on a cumulative basis, of which 364 thousand were carried out in the last day. 241,046 people remain under medical supervision in the country.
