The Orchester symphonique de Québec will celebrate, Wednesday evening, in the company of soprano Karina Gauvin, the 265e Mozart’s birthday.
The Quebec singer will be present on three of the five titles which will be performed under the direction of guest conductor Bernard Labadie. We can hear it in extracts from the operas He re pastores and Cosi fan tutte and with the aria Misera, dove son !. The symphonies no 21 and no 33 will also be on the program.
“Mozart is a genius. He wrote musical lines of pure beauty. It has a palette of colors to express the torments of the human soul, ”Karina Gauvin said in an interview.
The singer specifies that the pieces she will sing are a little less known and that she has sung less from the repertoire of the Austrian composer, born January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria.
