season 2 bsp;one piece is clarified

Season 1 of the live-action series One Piece, an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's manga of the same name, reportedly cost Netflix around $144 million. With an average of $18 million invested per episode, it was a risky bet, especially given previous live-action manga adaptations. And yet, the bet paid off, and the 8 episodes released simultaneously on August 31, 2023 were a great success.A season 2 was therefore logically announced quickly.

Since this announcement, information has been scarce. In the meantime, fans of Eiichiro Oda's work have been able to turn to other projects, such as the unexpected remake of the anime entitled The One Piece. But season 2 of the series Netflix's One Pieceis making headlines again, and in a very beautiful way! The mangaka behind the original manga has indeed published a long message in which he gives a lot of information… and teases big announcements to come.

Eiichiro Oda's message on the continuation of the Netflix series

This Tuesday, August 20, without warning, Netflix France published a tweet in which we can read: “The Martin Postman has a special delivery from Eiichirō Oda. ONE PIECE season 2, coming soon!”. The message in question is, fortunately, much more developed. We learn that the arcs “Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island” will be covered, which promises a particularly intense season and rich in new characters. We should also learn more about them, especially concerning the casting, very soon. Starting tomorrow, in fact:  “we will make some other announcements this week, on August 21, 22 and 23”.

Season 2 of the series One Piece should therefore be massive and Eiichiro Oda also reveals that the Netflix teams, showrunner Matt Owens and he had to rack their brains to achieve their goals. “Everyone is tearing their hair out”, it seems. No need to worry though, especially since Oda assures that“just like last season, the teams worked hard to create a season that [he] likes”. While he specifies that no written contract ensures this, it is an oral agreement made before the development of the Netflix series even began. We are now eager to discover the announcements that await us by the end of the week!
