2024 is a year that celebrates pop culture. It must be said that many films and other cartoons are celebrating an anniversary. Indeed, this year, the anime adapted of Eiichiro Oda's manga will celebrate its 25th anniversary and for this occasion, a nice surprise awaits fans.
One Piece, a success that has not weakened for 25 years
IF the manga One Piece by Eiichiro Oda was published for the first time in 1997, it was on October 20, 1999 that fans discovered its anime adaptation for the first time. From the beginning, the production was a success, and on an international scale. It must be said that the mangaka's work has not lost popularity during the last quarter of a century.
In this saga that is One Piece, Eiichiro Oda invites his readers to follow the adventures of the pirate Luffy D. Monkey and his Straw Hat crew. After the publication of the manga, the latter was honored to be adapted into an anime two years later. The franchise has also been spun off into several films and most recently, it's Netflix which proposed to adapt it into a live-action series.
Today, it was on X (formerly Twitter) that the official account of the manga shared excellent news to all Eiichiro Oda fans. Indeed, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the broadcast of the first episode of the anime One Piece, a special episode will be offered to fans on October 20th.
A special episode adapted from a novel by Tomohito Ohsaki
The official X account of One Piece announces that it is the novel One Piece – Histoires de l'equipage, signed Tomohito Ohsaki, available from Glénat editions, which will be adapted for the occasion.
The novel comprises six short stories. This special episode will be titled One Piece Fan Letter and here is what awaits fans:
Through the eyes of two soldier brothers engaged in the Summit War, three drunkards busy debating the best swordsman in the world, a young apprentice archaeologist from Baltigo and many other characters, find nine short stories dedicated to Luffy and his adventure companions.

The episode will be produced in by Megumi Ishitani &àgrave; which we owe in particular the episodes 957 and 1015 but also the openings 25 and 26 of the anime. The character design will be entrusted to Keisuke Mori and the scenario will be signed by Momoka Toyoka.
