One of the largest state-owned IT companies in Russia went bankrupt

The  National Center for Informatization» LLC (NCI) — a subsidiary of the state corporation «Rostec»

One of the key Russian state-owned IT companies, which over the past 10 years has received billions of rubles from the Russian budget for the largest projects of digitalization of the economy, has gone bankrupt. This is reported by The Moscow Times.

It is noted that LLC «National Informatization Center» applied to the court about its own financial insolvency. (NCI) — a subsidiary structure of the state corporation «Rostec», which acquired the status of «a single competence center in the field of digital technologies».

The company that provided IT support for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, developed and supported various Russian state information systems, serviced the IT systems of the Pension Fund, and also developed software for «Poshta of Russia», «Rosatoma» and “Safe City” systems with tens of thousands of cameras to monitor citizens, faced financial problems in 2023.

The Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, which ordered the NCI to carry out research and development works under the “Safe City” system. refused to accept the fifth stage of work and appealed to the Investigative Committee, accusing the company of fraud for 670 million rubles ($6.6 million).

The agency also refused to pay the contract.

In the notification about the upcoming bankruptcy on the website of the Fedresurs of the Russian Federation, LLC «Digital medical services» (daughter of the state-owned Rostelecom), as well as Air-Telecom Holding.

The court session regarding the bankruptcy of the National Center of Ukraine is scheduled for January 22, 2025.
