On Tuesday, August 27, in Lviv at the house of Iryna Farion on the street Masaryka, 3, to open a commemorative plaque dedicated to the linguist.

On the facade of the house in Lviv where the murdered Iryna Farion lived, a memorial plaque was opened in memory of the former deputy and linguist. This is reported by “Suspilne Lviv”.

The table was installed right next to the entrance, where Iryna Farion lived. And the event itself took place on the 40th day after the death of the professor and public figure.

You came to our house to honor the honor and greatness of the glorious daughter of Ukraine. Mom loved her Masaryk Street. She liked to walk here, in her house she worked on scientific works, recorded videos on the YouTube channel for all Ukrainians and simply lived, – says her daughter Sofya. – You and I are standing in the most terrible, saddest place for me, at the place of my mother's murder. Does time heal? No. Time only gives strength to overcome all this and fight and do everything for the memory of a great woman. And we will do it together with all of you.

Many friends and acquaintances of Iryna Farion, colleagues and representatives of the authorities, as well as caring citizens came to the event. Among them is a friend of the linguist Galina Pomyluyko-Nedashkivska.

We are fighting for ideas that are embodied in that life in material symbols, so it must be. The space in which we live, the street on which people will walk, must be marked. She has to speak. That's why we name streets, that's why there are monuments, says Halyna Pomyluyko-Nedashkivska.

In the beginning, the memory of Iryna Farion was honored with a moment of silence. The daughter and grandchildren together removed the red and black flag from the plaque, the national anthem of Ukraine sounded. And after the prayer, the rector of the Garrison Church named after the holy apostles Peter and Paul, Taras Mikhalchuk, consecrated the plaque.

Let us remind you that on Friday, July 19, in Lviv, professor of the Lviv Polytechnic Iryna Farion committed an attempt An unknown person shot her in the head with a firearm just outside her home.

Irina Farion was taken to St. Panteleimon Hospital. Later it became known that she is in a deep cerebral coma on artificial lung ventilation, but doctors are fighting for her life. However, within an hour the doctors were forced to report the sad news: Iryna Farion died in the hospital.

After the politician's death, the crime was reclassified to part 1 of Art. 115 (Deliberate murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
