Ukraine detained a spy who was spying on the Ukrainian Navy

The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB spy who was trying to obtain data on the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Black Sea. This information was announced by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

An FSB agent who was spying on the bases and routes of Ukrainian Armed Forces ships near the Odessa seaport was detained. The occupiers planned to use this data to prepare combat operations in the sea area using cruise missiles and kamikaze drones

According to the report, the agent was tasked with detecting anti-aircraft missile systems and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces in order to evade Ukrainian air defense. To gather intelligence, the spy photographed military facilities and recorded their geolocations on his phone. He passed the information to his Russian curator via messenger.

During a search of the detainee's apartment, a mobile phone and a computer were found, which the spy used to communicate with the FSB.

The attacker turned out to be a 37-year-old Odessa resident who was unemployed and looking for work on Telegram channels. He was charged with high treason committed under martial law

The detainee is being held without bail and could face life in prison with confiscation of property.

A Russian intelligence group was recently exposed, intending to carry out terrorist attacks in the Odessa region. The attackers planned to set fire to the cars of employees, and when the police arrived, they detonated a bomb.
