Holmes' house was there in the novels by Arthur Conan Doyle. According to the Times, this property is now in the name of former president's daughter Dariga Nazarbayeva and her son Nurali Aliyev. The authors of the article point out that, in addition to the house on Baker Street, family members of the ex-head of Kazakhstan own several more properties in London, as well as a piece of land. At the same time, records in the official register indicate that the building is registered with a company called Farmont Baker Street Limited, registered in the UAE.
The Times recalled a 2015 investigation by employees of the non-governmental organization Global Witness. Then they concluded that the property on Baker Street was the property of Nurali's father, businessman Rakhat Aliyev. He was charged with treason, murder, and involvement in the organization of a group engaged in criminal activities. The man died in 2015, when he was in prison in Austria.
