Nuclear exercises started in Russia : what is known

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the personnel of the aviation units of the Russian Aerospace Forces involved in the training are practicing the equipment of special combat units of aviation means of attack, including aeroballistic hypersonic missiles “Kynzhal”, and flights to designated patrol areas.

In Russia, exercises have begun to work out the issues of preparation and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons. The relevant statement was issued by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in the Southern Military District, the first stage of training with practical training of issues of preparation and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons has begun.

“Within this of the second stage, the personnel of the missile units of the Southern Military District are working on the training and combat tasks of obtaining special ammunition for the operational-tactical missile complex “Iskander”, equipping the launchers with them and secretly moving them to the designated positional area in preparation for missile launches,” – stated in the message.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation added that the personnel of the aviation units of the Russian Aerospace Forces involved in the training are practicing the equipment of special combat units of aviation means of destruction, including aeroballistic hypersonic missiles “Kynzhal”, and flights to assigned patrol areas.

“… the conducted exercise is aimed at supporting the readiness of the personnel and equipment of the combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons for response and with the aim of unconditionally ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Russian state in response to provocative statements and threats by certain Western officials against the Russian Federation,” added the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
