On the morning of December 25, cybercriminals sent fake messages to Ukrainians about alleged debts to Nova Poshta. The company reminded of some cybersecurity rules.
This was reported by the press service of Nova Poshta, Delo.ua reports.
The company emphasized that these letters have nothing to do with Nova Poshta.
They stated that attackers are using trust in well-known brands and manipulating sensitive information — in this case, they declare a debt.
Nova Poshta also reminded of the rules of cybersecurity:
- Check the sender's address. Original letters from Nova Poshta come only from official domains. Pay attention to suspicious changes in spelling.
- Do not open letters from unknown senders and do not follow links.
- If you have opened the letter or attachment – immediately change the passwords on your accounts and check if you have other active sessions. If you notice suspicious activity, end all unknown sessions through your account security settings.
- Enable two-factor authentication for your email to protect your account from unauthorized access.
- If you receive such an email — move it to spam and delete it. This will help reduce the risk of repeated mailings and protect other users.
The company emphasized that its cybersecurity unit is already working to block the network of servers from which the mailings are sent.
