The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the impossibility of restoring the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station after the terrorist attack perpetrated by the Russian occupiers on June 6, 2023. This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko. At a meeting with representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine, regarding the construction of a system for the implementation of the Peace Formula initiated by the Ukrainian president, the Minister stated that 11 runways were destroyed as a result of the explosion. of the upper part of the dam from the 28th.

Into the emergency zone 180 settlements of three regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions were affected.
Approximately 875 thousand people lived in these territories. At least 34 people died, another 28 were injured, 39 are considered missing.
About four thousand people and hundreds of domestic animals were evacuated from 3 flooded areas. More than 700 people were rescued from the affected areas, including 30 children and 40 people with limited mobility, Klymenko added.
