Five Polish citizens arrested for launching a drone near the Kolsas military base on the outskirts of Oslo have been released, and the case against them has been closed.
This, according to “European Truth”, is reported by NRK.
Norwegian police prosecutor Aase Shartum-Hansen said that three of the five detained Poles were questioned in the drone launch case.
“Drone was examined yesterday, and now the case is closed by me. The reason for closing the case is that the elements of a criminal offense have not been proven,” – she explained.
The detention of Polish citizens who violated the flight ban imposed around the Kolsas military base on the outskirts of Oslo became known the day before.
The Kolsas base is home to the command of the Norwegian Security Service, the unit responsible for the state's counterintelligence protection, as well as the national cybersecurity center and the command of the Oslo military garrison.
The NATO unit supporting air operations in Northern Europe is also based there.
Recently, there have been several arrests in Norway of people who launched drones over military facilities or in prohibited areas. Some of them were later expelled from the country.
