Norway believes that Ukraine has the right to hit the enemy

There should be no restrictions for Ukraine in the use of weapons provided by Western partners.

As Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Bart Eide said in an interview with NRK, Ukraine should be able to use the weapons provided against those military targets as required by the military situation and as required will be most effective, because otherwise it is imposing restrictions on Ukraine that make it difficult for it to win.

"We also believe that Ukraine has an absolutely indisputable right, according to international law, to hit targets on Russian territory within the framework defending their territory… This is absolutely normal in a state of war, and we cannot force Ukraine to fight with one hand behind its back… If Ukraine is attacked by Russian forces from Russian territory because they have long-range weapons – there should be an opportunity to answer them,” – noted the head of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

He was asked whether Norway would make statements on this matter.

"As for the specific conditions for the provision of specific weapons systems, we, like other countries, Let's talk about this carefully. There is a war going on, and everything that is said publicly receives a lot of attention. This approach is shared by many partners and we,” – added Espen Bart Eide.
