A group of defectors from North Korea has prepared propaganda materials for Ukraine, designed to agitate among the DPRK military. The materials have been sent to the Ukrainian embassy in Seoul, the Yonhap agency reports.

Among the authors are former DPRK military personnel and mothers of North Korean military personnel. They have prepared leaflets and audio recordings calling on the military to surrender to the Ukrainian army and desert.

In an open letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, they stated that the DPRK military has no idea what they are fighting for in Ukraine and may surrender collectively. “Propaganda materials sent by our defectors may become the key to the hearts of North Korean soldiers,” Yonhap quotes the statement. The article does not mention the reaction of the Ukrainian side.

Earlier, the South China Morning Post reported that North Korean defectors were seeking to be sent to Ukraine to begin a psychological warfare campaign at the front. The results of their initiative were not reported.

BAGNET recalls that the transfer of North Korean troops to the combat zone in Ukraine was previously reported by intelligence agencies of Western countries, Ukraine and South Korea. It is claimed that Pyongyang could send assault units of up to 12,000 people to Moscow, who could take direct part in the fighting.

On Sunday, November 10, The New York Times reported that Russia had concentrated a group of up to 50,000 troops, including North Koreans. It is assumed that they will try to liberate the territories in the Kursk region occupied by Ukraine. Moscow did not comment on this in detail.

On Saturday, November 9, Russian President Putin signed a law ratifying the treaty on a comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and the DPRK, which provides, among other things, for mutual military assistance.
