According to the South Korean military, such GPS jamming operations are part of Pyongyang's efforts to prevent possible drone flights carrying propaganda materials against the North Korean regime from the South to the North.
In Seoul said that the obstacles created by North Korea do not affect military equipment or the activities of the South Korean army, but may disrupt the safe operation of civilian ships and aircraft.
North Korea has not resorted to such actions for the first time. Between May 29 and June 2 this year, about 500 aircraft and hundreds of ships encountered GPS problems due to North Korean interference. The International Civil Aviation Organization then issued a warning to Pyongyang.
