Walmart Canada is abandoning its plan to open a new distribution center in Quebec in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in the Montreal region, the retailer announced .

The project was expected to represent an investment of $100 million. The opening was planned for early this year.

Walmart Canada spokesperson Sarah Kennedy confirmed the change of plans in an emailed statement, but did not elaborate on the company's reasons for the decision.
