< p>From 2024, the structure of the national multi-subject test will change – will add another item. In this regard, testing will last four hours with a break. Deputy Minister of Education Mykhailo Vinnytskyi informed about this.
"Next year, we plan to conduct the NMT in a slightly different way, that is, four subjects instead of three. This means a 4-hour test with a break, between the second and third hour, a significant break. Just writing a test for 4 hours is unrealistic and unhealthy for a child”, – said the Deputy Minister of Education.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education is moving towards the practice of five subjects, which already exists in many European countries, in particular in Poland. A five-subject graduation test may be introduced as early as 2025 (three mandatory and two optional).
"In 2025, if everything goes well, then the final test for graduates of the 11th and soon the 12th grade will be five-subject: three compulsory and two optional subjects. But I don't want to scare anyone: there will be four subjects in 2024, and we are working on announcing what these subjects will be and what the exam programs will be already in September. Because we understand that our entrants prepare throughout the year in order to pass the test as best as possible,” Vinnytskyi assured. Prepared by: Serhiy Daga.
