Nintendo Switch 2: price revealed?

Released in 2017 and succeeding the WiiU, the Nintendo Switch was a real hit. Nintendo's first true hybrid console won over millions of players, thanks to a rich catalog, to the point of becoming the third best-selling console of all time after the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo DS. Seven years after its launch, the Nintendo Switch will have one last go-round, with a fall packed with highly anticipated releases, starting with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, expected on September 26, 2024.

In the coming weeks, the Tokyo-based Japanese company will finally unveil its new console, which the press has conveniently named “Nintendo Switch 2” while waiting to discover its official name. The wait is palpable, and gamers can't wait for Nintendo to reveal the appearance of its new machine and its technical characteristics. While Sony lifted the veil this week on the PlayStation 5 Pro, which will cost the modest sum of 799 euros (!!!), leaker MoistyCharlie revealed on Discord that Nintendo's new console will cost $400.

Of course, it is recommended to take this statement with a grain of salt, let's point out that MoistyCharlie had announced with great accuracy the date of the announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro and its sale price. Besides, this price does not seem at all crazy: the “Nintendo Switch 2” should cost more than the classic Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch OLED; however, its characteristics will certainly not allow a price approaching a PlayStation 5 Standard or an Xbox Series X.

MoistyCharlie also warns that the new Nintendo console will have two different SKUs, and will therefore have two different prices. We can therefore expect, on the model of the new gen consoles, the release of a standard console and a less powerful model without a cartridge reader, or the equivalent of a Nintendo Switch Lite for the new Nintendo console. The leaker nevertheless specifies that the cheapest model will cost 400 euros. To be continued!

What do you think of this information? Would you spend 400 euros, or even more, for a Nintendo console? Tell us in the comments section.
