Nike has printed sneakers for the first time on a 3D printer

Nike has released sneakers printed on a 3D printer for the first time in collaboration with Zellerfeld. VoxelMatters writes about this.

The Nike Air Max 1000 sneaker model is completely red, the sneakers have an elegant look, a lace-free design with convex details cut out on the body.

«The Air Max 1000 is based on a 3D design developed using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a flexible and durable material that allows you to create complex structures and lightweight construction. Polyurethane makes sneakers not only durable, but also environmentally friendly by reducing waste during production, – journalists write.

To create this revolutionary shoe, Nike joined forces with Zellerfeld, known for its futuristic designs and the use of advanced 3D printing technologies. Zellerfeld has previously collaborated with such famous brands as Kidsuper and Louis Vuitton, creating unique models of sneakers for them.

Despite the fact that Nike has not yet announced the date of the Air Max 1000's release, the company's director of innovation, John Hawk, emphasized the significance of this breakthrough.

«For me, as an innovator, the most exciting thing about the Air Max 1000 is the new solutions that we can achieve through new levels of production. This is control, precision and expression – “all of this is vital to sport and design,” said Nike's chief innovation officer, John Hawke. The innovative model was unveiled at the ComplexCon festival in Las Vegas.
