Mercedes-AMG is well known for its high performance SUVs, including the GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS and EQE series. However, the upcoming all-electric model is poised to be an even bigger hit.

For the first time in its 57-year history, Mercedes-AMG is developing its own super-electric SUV from scratch.

Mercedes-AMG independently develops the entire architecture of the car, unlike EQS. The new full-size model is based on the high-performance electric platform AMG.EA.

The full-size electric SUV will be the second electric vehicle on the AMG platform. EA after the GT 4-door coupe. The company claims that its new AMG platform. EA will be a “technology innovator” based on Mercedes-owned Yasa axial-flow engine.

The new super electric SUV is expected to compete with upcoming models from Porsche and BMW, such as the Cayenne EV. Porsche is also developing a new flagship electric SUV that will sit above the Cayenne, which is likely to be more competitive with the AMG model.

Mercedes-AMG has not disclosed pricing, but the new full-size model will not be cheap. The 2025 AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC will start at $130,800 in the U.S., but the electric model will likely be priced higher.
