New Zealand has imposed new sanctions against five individuals and six companies from Russia and Belarus.

This was announced by New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters, noting that the sanctions are aimed at individuals who support Russia's full-scale invasion and are involved in the occupation of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the Russian military-industrial complex.

The press service of the New Zealand government reported that the sanctions against Belarusian figures are part of a joint effort with international partners to condemn and hold accountable those who support Russia's illegal actions.

They also stressed that Russia's occupation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP poses a threat to nuclear safety, calling for its de-occupation.

BAGNET recalls that since March 2022, New Zealand has already imposed sanctions against more than 1.7 thousand individuals and legal entities, and has also applied a number of trade restrictions against Russia.
