New update for Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphones increases data transfer speed

Xiaomi 14 Ultra recently received a significant update as the transition from 5G to 6G slowly begins, it is now equipped with 5.5G technology (5G -A). We previously told you that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra achieved mobile data speeds of 5 Gbps using 5.5G technology. However, 5.5G was only commercially available, without an official system update from Xiaomi.

Xiaomi releases a system update that enables 5.5G on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra

The latest system update for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra includes 5.5G technology on the 527MB device and is marked with the OS version number 1.0.9.0 UMACNXM. Earlier, China Mobile announced a 5.5G mobile network speed test for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, achieving a download speed of 5132.43 Mbps. Chinese OEMs seem to be focusing on 5.5G technology, not only the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but also the OPPO Find X7 Ultra, and some vivo phones now support 5.5G.

One of the first countries to adopt the technology 5.5G, there is China; unless you live in China, it is unlikely that you will have such crazy mobile network speed on your Xiaomi 14 Ultra. In addition, it is important to note that 5.5G — this is a new technology and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's 5Gbps download speed doesn't really reflect its full potential.

The 5.5G technology will provide millisecond latency and reach 10Gbps download speed with 1Gbps download speed with on mobile devices. While the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's 5 Gbps download speed is impressive today, it's clear that this technology still needs time to deliver even faster speeds.
