A new trailer for the series "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power). Video published on the official YouTube channel Prime Video.

The new trailer features many never-before-seen scenes. The TV series is slated to premiere on September 2 via Amazon Prime Video. The first season will have 8 episodes.

Owned by Amazon Studios Jeff Bezos is personally interested in the success of the film adaptation, since he himself is a fan of this genre. Shooting took place in New Zealand.

The studio bought the rights from Tolkien's descendants for $250 million and undertook to shoot at least 5 seasons, the total budget of which is – $1 billion

The TV project will focus on the events that preceded the original trilogy filmed by P Iter Jackson. The action of the show will take place in the Second Age of Middle-earth – thousands of years before the events from the novels of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien “The Gobbit, or There and There” and The Lord of the Rings.

According to showrunners Patrick McKay and John D. Payne, the series will cover all the major events of the Second Age: the forging of the rings of power, the rise of Sauron, the epic tale of Numenor, the last alliance of the elves and people. At the same time, a number of characters and storylines are an invention of the writers of the series.
