After three albums under the name of Poules à Colin, the traditional music group decided to rename themselves Rosier. Here he comes with a new record, Slightly, which touches on other musical styles.
The year 2020 started off very well for Rosier, who spent two weeks in New Zealand in January.
“We left for glory,” says performer and violinist Béatrix Méthé. It was the most beautiful tour of our life. “
In February, the musicians entered the studio to record the album Slightly. Everything bodes well for the rest of the year …
This shows how the arrival of the pandemic in March slowed down their momentum. “It was like a blow in the face,” admits Beatrix.
The musicians put away their equipment and they finally decided to release their new album in early 2021.
But in fact, why did you drop the name Les Poules à Colin?
” It was a joke that we did in 2008, responds Béatrix. We had a Colin in the band and we thought the name was funny. But it was about time that this jokeit stops! There is nothing ironic and macho about what we do. We took the name Rosier, which is simple and poetic. “
► Rosier’s album, Slightly, will be released on January 29. The group will do a virtual show that same evening, at 8 p.m., on facebook.com/rosierband.
