New iPhone bug: people in screenshots turn red

iPhone users running iOS 18 have discovered an unusual bug related to screenshots. When taking screenshots multiple times, the same image becomes oversaturated and acid-red.

What else is known

To reproduce the bug, you need to take a screenshot of any photo, and then repeat the procedure several times. Already in the first screenshots, a red filter is visible, which is probably due to incorrect operation of the frame processing algorithms.

It is noted that the bug was recorded on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Our editor also encountered an error on the iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.2.1. Apparently, the problem does not depend on the device model and is present in all users with iOS 18.

Initially, the bug was noticed by iPhone owners in China, but now users from other countries are complaining about the error. Apple has not commented on the situation so far, but with a high probability, the bug with photos turning red will be fixed in the next versions of iOS.
