New fraudulent schemes in Ukraine/Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine

Recently, a new fraudulent scheme of stealing funds from users' bank accounts has spread in Ukraine. Ukrainians receive fake messages from alleged supermarkets, where they are tricked into clicking on phishing links and entering personal data.

On the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, they warn that recently Ukrainians have been receiving fake messages from alleged supermarkets, thanks to by which fraudsters gain access to citizens' bank accounts.

How do criminals act?

  • They send messages to messengers containing a phishing link.
  • They suggest going to link to enter personal data and confirm the operation in Internet banking.
  • Access to accounts.

Law enforcement officers gave several tips on how to protect yourself and not to fall on the hook of fraudsters.

1. Do not click on questionable links.

2. Find out about similar promotions on the official website of the chain or directly in the supermarket.

3. Do not enter CVV codes, card expiration dates, other personal and financial information.

The police say that if you did give the data to the fraudsters – block the card immediately and contact the police.
