The verdict was handed down in absentia, Nevzorov himself is outside Russia.
The investigation believes that on March 9 last year he posted “known false information” on Instagram; about the deliberate shelling of a maternity hospital in Mariupol by Russian troops.
The prosecution demanded 9 years in prison, the defense demanded an acquittal (because Nevzorov took the indicated information from open sources). As a result, the court delivered a verdict – 8 years in prison and banned Nevzorov from administering Internet resources for four years.
