And as the anime is set to release on January 19, 2023 on the streaming platform, fans can once again get a never-before-seen glimpse by Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of Macabre, thanks to; a short excerpt published just yesterday on the dedicated Netflix YouTube account; to anime.

This new extract allows us to have a first glimpse of Tomie, one of Junji Ito's classics. As a reminder, Tomie has a special meaning for the manga, because it is about of the first published work by Ito. It depicts a teenager as beautiful as she is manipulative, who has the ability to to regenerate and multiply, despite the fact that it is regularly dismembered or cut into pieces.

The anime will compile a selection of twenty of the most famous macabre stories of the mangaka, where we can notably find some of his classics, √†grave; like Tomie, or Soïchi.
