A little earlier in the week, we shared with you the official synopsis of the first episode of Dragon Ball Daima, with many fans eager to see Goku again in this brand new anime from the cult franchise. And more recently, Netflix made this big announcement that will certainly please the platform's subscribers.

Netflix welcomes the new anime Dragon Ball Daima

When we think of manga or anime, several names can come to mind, like One Piece, but also Naruto, or even Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer for the younger ones. But if there is one shonen that has clearly influenced all those mentioned above, it is obviously Dragon Ball.

Launched in 1984 in the pages of the famous Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, Akira Toriyama's manga has given birth to one of the most cult franchises, and this in all four corners of the globe. Goku and the Saiyans are now an integral part of contemporary pop culture, and their stories continue to be developed after several decades.

And it is precisely on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the franchise that fans will be able to discover Dragon Ball Daima, a brand new anime featuring an original story by the late Toriyama. And while we already knew that French audiences could find this new project on Animation Digital Network (or ADN) when it launched on October 11, 2024, it was Crunchyroll who subsequently announced that the anime would also be available in simulcast on its platform.

But more recently, another streaming service also seems to want its share of the cake, since Netflix has also announced that Dragon Ball Daima was going to join his catalog.

ALERT: Sangoku, Shin, Glorio and Pansie are going on an adventure again!

It should be noted, however, that unlike ADN and Crunchyroll, the anime will likely not be available in simulcast on Netflix, as it will be released on October 18 on the platform, one week after its launch on other streaming services.

We can then expect to have to wait a week between the official release of the episodes and that on Netflix, a bit like the Egghead arc of the anime One Piece, whose episodes are released on Netflix a little less than a week after their release on platforms dedicated to Japanese animation. This is still excellent news for those who are not subscribed to either ADN or Crunchyroll, but who still want to see the new adventures of Goku and others in Dragon Ball Daima (beware of spoilers that said).
