(New York) There has been a positive COVID-19 result among the 470 players tested since February 3, the NBA said on Wednesday.
Anyone who tests positive, or who is identified as a close contact of an infected person, should self-isolate until they are given the green light to end it.
This is determined under the rules of the NBA and NBPA, in concert with guidelines from US health authorities.
Three players will be absent on Wednesday in connection with pandemic protocols: Kevin Durant, of the Brooklyn Nets, Jrue Holiday, of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Theo Maledon, of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This could also be the case for Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves. It will be a last minute decision.
Like last Friday (against Minnesota), the Thunder will play with the required minimum of eight players on Wednesday in Los Angeles, against the Lakers.
