The Sûreté du Québec arrested two other people in Rouyn-Noranda on Wednesday in its fight against drug trafficking in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

According to what the SQ reports, investigators from the major crimes investigation division intercepted a vehicle on Larivière Avenue. The two occupants, a 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, were placed under arrest after drugs were found in the vehicle.

The Sûreté du Québec indicates that the woman was released and should return to court at a later date for further proceedings, while the man was kept detained and was scheduled to appear Thursday after noon at the Rouyn-Noranda courthouse. Charges relating to drug trafficking could be filed against them.

The police emphasize having seized, during this operation, nearly 600 grams of cocaine , nearly 150 grams of fentanyl, GHB, approximately 3,000 prescription drug pills and approximately 7,000 Canadian dollars in cash.

The day before, still in Rouyn-Noranda, the SQ arrested four men aged 29 to 60 during a search carried out in a residence on rue Terry-Fox.
